I have been 'beavering' away at my little rabbits this week & they are coming along beautifully. My new sewing machine & I are becoming best friends & I am loving the ease & speed of the new machine. We have been babysitting Princess 'L' each evening this week as our daugther is in the Easter drama at our church. WHAT A JOY.........we saw her clap hands for the first time this week and we have discovered that the little cutie LOVES to dance!!! As soon as there
is a piece of music on, (we first discovered it when the trailer of a movie came on) she rocks her little bottom back & forward & smiles & sways a little. HOW CUTE........a still pic wouldn't do it justice, but it is SOOOOO funny to watch. L has been missing her mum though & now asks for her in the sweet baby mumblings of 'mmummm, mmmummm, mum' which prompted this ATC made from an old newspaper clipping, titled 'Unconditional'.
My hands needed a rest from the rigours of 'bear' making & so I worked on a couple of pages in my altered dictionary to give them a break. (I also made some ugly ATC's, but I'll save you from the trauma, & myself from the embarrasment of those!.....................as I have said before..............NOT EVERYTHING turns out to be the Mona Lisa! I have living examples on my studio table!) The page with the golden horse on it is an image that was donated by Abby for my book, & I have used Jo Sonya's Rich Gold
with Raw Umber & Gold Oxide mixed in wet in wet for the background. The stamp is one of my favs. from the stunning collection from Above the Mark. You can order from Beth online at: http://www.abovethemark.com/ I have created a glaze from Golden Matt Medium & Rich Gold paint to finish off the page. The handwriting is names of mythical horses from history & is written with a marker as the page is a little smooth & shiny from the gold.
The Rust page is very simple.......this pic is from Jenene........a kind
donation to my love of all things rusticated! I have used Gold Oxide paint with a 'smidg' of Norwegian Orange. I have used a beeswax pencil to do the writing on this page because it is smooth in contrast to the 'chalkiness' (all these scientific words!#!!!.......LOL!!) of the paint.
And so, we move into Easter time......... Apart from our reflective celebrations on Good Friday & Easter Sunday, we are FINALLY going to have our bath & shower installed nearly 18 months after the new bathroom was built) & I am doing some major interior house painting. I am not sure how much time I will have to be online, or whether my computer will even be accessible as the house becomes a jumble as things are moved around to accommodate the work that is taking place.
I pray that you all have a safe, happy and blessed time with your loved ones. I hope you have the opportunity for some reflection on the true meaning of Easter & have the chance to visit your local church. If you would like to think about this some more, there are some thoughts below for you to ponder in your quiet time.
